FACS 2011
8th International Symposium on Formal Aspects of Component Software

Oslo, Norway, September 14-16, 2011

Airport City center

Oslo has three different airports: Oslo Airport Gardermoen (the main one), Moss Airport Rygge and Sandefjord Airport Torp. Click here for detailed information on how to travel from each airport to the Oslo city center.

If you arrive at Gardermoen, we recommend the airport express train for a fast (25 min) and comfortable trip, which costs 32 US dollars for a one-way ticket. You can buy tickets from the Flytoget vending machines. A possible cheaper alternative would be to go by bus (50 min) and order a ticket using this online service (23 US dollars). You will receive the ticket by email, which you must print and show to the driver. Either means of transportation will bring you to Oslo S (Central Station), which is near most of the hotels.

City center Hotel

If your hotel is not within walking distance from Oslo S, but close to the Nationaltheatret or Majorstuen subway stations, then we recommend taking the subway from Oslo S (lines 3 towards Sognsvann, 4 towards Ringen, or 5 towards Storo). You can find the Oslo subway map here, and for more detailed directions and time information (using any means of transportation) see the Trafikanten website.

You can buy single transportation tickets from all major subway stations - notice the big yellow vending machines which take cash. From these machines you may also buy a Flexikort which has 8 tickets (see also here). After you stamp it (in a small yellow box), each ticket will be valid for exactly one hour using all means of public transportation (subway, tram, bus, and even boat).

You may also take a taxi, which you need to pay in cash or by credit card (Visa and Mastercard are mostly used, and American Express may also be accepted); expect to pay 20-40 US dollars.

Hotel Conference Location

To reach the conference location, at the Department of Informatics, the easiest way is to take the subway or the tram from your nearest station to Forskningsparken. Use Trafikanten to find the different possible routes (and timetable information) from your location to this station. After arriving at this station, follow the signs that lead you to the conference location.

Depending on the hotel where you are staying, here are some approximate directions to reach the Department of Informatics:
